About EvieShower
Biography:
Nairaland is a Nigerian based online forum which serves as the largest local forum
in Nigerian. It cover several topics. One thing good about nairaland is that its registered
users can update their own status on their timeline and people can comment just like Facebook.

It has grown so large that it_s now independent from Google Adsense for its earning.
That means nairaland does not run Google AdSense due to it violates
Google Adsense terms and conditions. Hence it runs its own independent Ads called Nairaland Ads with which
users can now advertise to their targeted clients. Most of the latest information about matters arising in Nigeria and other countries are gotten or first updated in nairaland forum.

Member online and guest are displayed on the homepage of
nairaland website as well as birthday of the various registered user.
Currently, Nairaland has over 1.3 million registered users
with over 1.9 million topics. NOTE: Every Nairaland Forum member is solely responsible for
anything that he/she posts or uploads on Nairaland. MUST GET NOW:
Create and sign in into yahoomail account. For a direct sign up page.
Once your account set up have been completed, to
edit your nairaland account, click on EDIT PROFILE located at the right
top and make the necessary changes as desired and click UPDATE PROFILE.
Before you go further into knowing the steps on how to get ads on Nairaland, Just know that Nairaland charges for approximate value delivered.

This is highly correlated with traffic on the short run. So when there_s less traffic, you pay less, and when you_re
charged more, it will most likely be due to an increase in traffic.
However, on the long run, that_s not the only factor Nairaland will consider.
Nairaland have developed a robust pricing algorithm to make sure that you will always get what you pay for.
STEP 1: get your ad banner designed by a good
graphic designer. Location is not a problem. Your ad banner must be borderless, 318 pixels wide, 106 pixels tall,
less than 30kb in size, and in the PNG or JPG format.

Show samples of your work and a link to your website or contact details.
Sometimes, it is not the individual that gets to use you but someone who later googles similar question. Because Nairaland
is ranking high, the thread will likely show up in the first page,
and there is your contact showing also. My advice is never go looking for every way to
advertise what you do on Nairaland, people will even hate your business for "spamming".

Place a targeted banner ad: Now remember I said the FREE ones are five, so this 6th one which is
NOT free and is very effective especially if you are launching
a new business. Nairaland will give you a very positive exposure more than facebook and Google.
Moreover, Nairaland ad rates is now so reduced that even a thousand Naira can place an advert
for a week depending on the section. Find out how to place
your advert on any section of Nairaland.

Its barely two weeks or so before we kiss goodbye to this year and
after due consultation and deliberation, I decided to open up
this thread so as to award our members who have played distinct roles in Nairaland.
This award will be a total contrast to the awards
been organized by moderators in Nairaland and also will pride as the first of its kind.
THE MOST PEACEFUL NAIRALANDER: this award goes to that Nairalander who treated the mods with the respect they deserve as
well as the moderator who treated the members with respect
hence it is open to both moderators and members.
THE MOST DETRIBALISED NAIRALANDER: this award goes
to that nairalander who chose to look beyond tribe when commenting on nairaland.
It is open to both moderators and members.

The award will follow two patterns, the nomination and the voting.
THE NOMINATION: it will be done by the judges who will be
selected and unveiled in few hours time. Which a very
brief nairaland profile of each nominee will be published.

The judges can nominate themselves or nominate within themselves.every nairalander with a monicker is eligible to be nominated in asmuch as he is eligible for the relative category.
Any monicker can be nominated in the different categories as much as
possible. THE ACTUAL VOTING: the actual voting will be open to every
nairalander and will be done with different threads for different categories.
However, the frequency of voting will be determined by the judges.

REWARD: apart from the joy that comes with been appreciated, each awardee will be entitled to an airtime worth of N500 which
will be provided by an anonymous donor. The airtime pin will be deposited to seun or any other
person the judges think has integrity to provide the rewards when needed, this is to ensure
transparency and fairness. Not minding how little the reward is,
we pray that the awardees will accept it with good fate and heart, this is the much we can guarantee, subsequent edition will come with better
rewards. The judges: the judges will be four in number and will be tasked with collating the results of the voting as well as ensuring and maintaining the integrity of the mother thread and the voting
thread. They will be unveiled in due course. They are eligible
to vote, voted for and be nominated. They will be made up of two
active members, one moderators and one supermoderato/admin. THE HOST: I will
play the role of the host and will attend to people's ideas, criticisms and reservation and have an oversight function over the
day to day running of the mother thread and the voting threads.
Am not eligible to be nominated, vote and
be voted for.

A VIN is a 17 digit vehicle identifier made up of numbers and letters.
It is like a vehicle's genetic code. Before buying a car,
ensure that you get the VIN from the dealer. Once you get that, have it checked by one of the VIN checkers on Nairaland.
There are about 5 or 6 VIN checkers available at any given time.
Nairaland does not require sellers of cars used in Nigeria
to provide the VINs. But even if you are buying a car used in Nigeria,
request the VIN from the seller. A VIN report can save you a lot of trouble
by providing you with a detailed history of the car you are about to purchase.

Be Realistic: It is no secret that a good number of vehicles imported
into Nigeria are salvaged vehicles.

In the US, this usually means that they were involved in an accident and then repaired to the
satisfaction of an American Motor Vehicle Department.
So when a Carfax report indicates that a vehicle has a Salvage title, do not be scared.
However, you should inspect the vehicle with a qualified mechanic and determine the source of impact.
If the damage was light and did not affect the engine, then all may be well.
But if it was a frontal impact, the engine may be seriously affected.
Be Afraid. Very Afraid: If Carfax or Autocheck
reports that a vehicle has a SCRAPPED/DESTROYED
title or CERTIFICATE OF DESTRUCTION, then be extremely careful.

In the US, such vehicles are meant for spare parts and are not allowed to be driven on the roads.
When buying such a car in the US, most dealers will warn you that it cannot be
driven and must be towed. Granted that America is far more advanced than Nigeria, but if
they decide that a vehicle is entirely not road-worthy, there may be a good
reason for that (or may be not). Sadly such cars are imported
into Nigeria without any sort of restriction. Check Dealer's
Temperament: Nairaland is an interactive website.
Dealers frequently exchange messages with customers and
other users.

Once you see the car you like, click on the dealer's name (at the top left corner
of the car ad). That will take you to the dealer's profile page.
Then scroll down to "Additional Information". Under "Additional Information", click on "Show the last posts of this person".
That will show you all the posts from the dealer since he/she became a member of Nairaland.
Read through some of the posts to get an idea of how the
dealer responds to inquiries and how he treats other users.

If he/she is hostile or abusive, you may tell from
his/her previous posts. Check Length of Membership: Most dealers on Nairaland are fairly new.

The oldest registration we found was dated 2006.
Many registered in 2008 and others in 2009. One can reasonably assume that the older dealers may be
more reliable and knowledgeable in the car business. Exercise caution when dealing with new dealers.
To find out when a dealer registered on Nairaland, Click on Browse By
Dealer and look under "Registered" column. What Should I Pay For My
Car? Car prices on Nairaland are not fixed. The price of an identical car may differ from one dealer to
another by several thousands. Fortunately, most dealers
on Nairaland are eager to make a sale and will gladly give
substantial discounts if they notice you are a serious
buyer. However, you should watch out for cars that
priced too low.

For instance, as of December 2009, a 2008 Honda Accord was selling for 3.8 to
4.5 million Naira. If you find a dealer offering one
for 3 million Naira or thereabouts, exercise caution. It may have been used in Nigeria.
Generally salvaged vehicles and vehicles used in Nigeria are much
cheaper than clean, imported ones. Leave Feedback: Unlike Ebay and other online sites, Nairaland
does not have a formal feedback system. So there is no way to judge a dealer's past performance.
However an informal feedback system do exist.

In this case, buyers return to Nairaland and narrate their buying experience with a particular
dealer. An example can be seen from the popular thread "Ayodeji1 Is A Great Guy-Delivered Honda Accord 2005 EOD today".

Here a buyer named K.M narrated his pleasant experience with
Ayodeji1. However, there are a lot of skeptics on Nairaland.
Before making such a claim, have the evidence to back it up.
In fact, when K.M posted his feedback, some Nairalanders doubted him until
Ayodeji1 produced evidence of the transaction. Do you have more helpful tips for buyers?

Four days after, Nigerians are still in the dark over what led to the sudden disappearance of top online forum, www.nairaland.com. The website which is currently ranked seventh most popular in Nigeria and 873 in the world
for the past days has been inaccessible.
When DailyPost contacted the founder, Seun Osewa via an e-mail, he
did not respond, an indication that he_s still battling on how to
restore the site. He only took to twitter
to post some unexplainable tweets, such as, "It may be worse than you think. We failed to protect what you entrusted to us. We tried, but we failed. We_re going into a quiet period to concentrate on bringing back Nairaland.

Ogbete market in Enugu comes to mind. Why are black societies so dirty and disorganized? Onitsha Market and Aba markets and even oshodi should look like this district in Tokyo. Black people don't like themselves, too bad. This is a street not a market and some streets in Aba and Onitsha are comparable. Re: . by Nobody: 8:36pm On Nov 24, 2016 . Why is popular among nairalanders to troll over brown roof. Isn't it normal for the roof to rust when the moisture is high in a subtropical place lIke nigeria. Then it rain half year? Lastly the roof seem to be regular steel instead of stainless stell with protective paint coating. Why is popular among nairalanders to troll over brown roof. Lastly the roof seem to be regular steel instead of stainless stell with protective paint coating. Lol. Are you asking me? Go and ask your fellow SE-brethren na. Dem go soon invade this thread now with Onitsha GRA pictures and Ibadan brown-roofs. This is a street not a market and some streets in Aba and Owerri are comparable. I totally agree with you on the highlighted but I think Aba is getting better than Owerri going by what's on ground in both towns. Why are black societies so dirty and disorganized? Onitsha Market and Aba markets and even oshodi should look like this district in Tokyo.

Black people don't like themselves, too bad. What you posted is not an open market but group of shopping malls. Gradually Nigerian economic cities are getting there. O'boy, that's a far cry from the REAL onitsha, no color-correction or embellishments, no GRA's , and in all her brown-roof glory. The REAL Onitsha they don't want you to see. Re: . by smilingface(m): 8:56pm On Nov 24, 2016 sometimes I think u guys are taking this tribalism n hatred too far.when I read all this hatred comments it's like a job that after doing u guys get paid. Re: . by davidif: 8:57pm On Nov 24, 2016 OP, its because of standards. I think over there you have zoning laws that prohibit you from erecting structures anywhere you go. Its not like Nigeria where you just build anywhere. I am also sure that they have sanitation standards and a central sewage system. Come on dude, you're losing your fire.
